Scavenger Hunt Adventures

Now that summer vacation has arrived, there is so much time to help preschoolers have adventures and explore the nature around them! One of the best and most fun ways to achieve this is to have them engage in a Scavenger Hunt.

I don’t have any children of my own, but I do have nieces and nephews who I love with all of my heart.  I like to provide them with memories they will hold onto forever.  Lately I made up a simple scavenger hunt that could be done by my nieces and nephews from ages 1-20 years, and that I could join in on of course!

My nephews tested the scavenger hunt out when I provided them with the list, a marker, and a paper bag to collect items in. They had a great time searching around our garden land and were able to find almost everything on their own! It was just another day in the Adventures of Auntie LaLa!

Summer Vacation!

Yesterday was the last day of the school year for this preschool teacher! I celebrated by enjoying an ice cold beer and Lindt Salted Caramel Chocolate (courtesy of the amazing assistant teacher I have been working with lately).  This school year has been a particularly crazy one for me.  My life has changed drastically since  I started the school year as a student teacher and grad student.  I feel overwhelmed yet blessed when I think of all that has happened.

My biggest excitement is that I have become a preschool teacher! I absolutely love my job and already can’t wait to get into my new classroom for next year! That being said, I will be adding a new section to this blog, dedicated to classroom adventures, early childhood activities, and hands on learning.

Stay tuned for my next post on an easy recipe for Sidewalk Chalk Paint! We tried it out for our Messy Art Day and the preschoolers loved it!

Happy Summer Vacation!

Thank You Teachers!

After years of hard work, ups and downs, stress, and wonderful memories… my dream of becoming a teacher is finally coming true.  On my road to becoming a teacher, I had so many amazing teachers who showed me that teaching is so much more than running a classroom.  It is having passion and heart for each and every student.  For believing in making a difference and being a positive role model.  I have had so many teachers show me this.

Thank you to all of the teachers I have had and have worked with.  You all have taught me how we can make a difference in each child’s life.  You have all taught me that each child deserves to be loved and given an education.  Each child deserves to be shown the world.  Remember teachers, you make a world of a difference! You are the ones who help to create the leaders of our world, the CEO’s, the small business owners, the athletes, the actors, and the future educators.

Thank you teachers, I am so proud to be joining you!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
